Jake's Point of View
Steve was looking at me from behind the glass with narrowed eyes, trying to pierce through my features to uncover the secret behind my intense hatred for his sister. I struggled to maintain my composure and answered in a casual tone, "It's nothing, Steve... I'm just angry at her for treating you in such a humiliating way."
"Don't be angry at her; you have no right, Jake!" he snapped, gripping the receiver. "She's my sister, and she's none of your business."
I couldn't understand how he could love her so blindly, regardless of what she did to him. I tried to comprehend it, but I failed completely. I shrugged my shoulders. "Fine, I won't interfere in your relationship anymore."
He nodded. "Yes, that's for the best."
At that moment, the stern voice of the guard echoed in the hallway: "Visiting time is over!"
"Steve, time's up... I have to go," I said, preparing to stand.
"Alright, Jake. See you next time," he replied with a faint smile.
