At first, Aerith thought this was the scenery of some world Mr. Kain had gone to.
But when she saw Mr. Kain scrolling through short videos, the Warhammer content inside made her feel that something was wrong.
Connecting it with the words on the computer, an absurd possibility surfaced in her mind.
After following Mr. Kain for most of the day, Aerith had roughly figured out where this world was.
It was Earth.
However, if Mr. Kain was a native of the Warhammer world, then Earth, as humanity's homeworld, should not look like this.
At the convention venue, she had pieced together some fragmented details from people's conversations and learned that different works had different settings.
There were stories where people died by accident and crossed into other worlds, then began incredible adventures there.
Combining that with the fewer than two hundred words on Mr. Kain's computer, the absurd possibility in Aerith's mind grew stronger.
If she remembered correctly, Mr. Kain's other name was Lance Plain.
In other words, Mr. Kain had accidentally transmigrated into the world of the Warhammer franchise?
And during breakfast, the video he had watched had also contained many comments. Quite a few people had said that if they could transmigrate, any world would be fine—except Warhammer.
It seemed that the danger level of that world far exceeded what Aerith currently understood.
In other words, Mr. Kain had transmigrated into the Warhammer world and then, by accident, been selected by the Hyperdimensional Channel.
Wait. Perhaps it should be said that Mr. Kain had not merely transmigrated into the Warhammer world, but into the world he had been trying to describe in the text on his computer.
He had entered the world of his own creation.
Did that mean her world, as well as the worlds of the other members in the Hyperdimensional Channel, were actually characters from "books"?
Did that mean they were unreal? False?
Aerith did not doubt or question herself over that.
Her feelings, her thoughts, and her experiences were all real.
Everyone truly existed. She did not fall into confusion over that point.
Right now, the most important thing was to wake Mr. Kain up. She could not let that domain expand along the Lifestream and continue covering the world.
It was not that it would harm the world. If things continued this way, Mr. Kain should also be able to kill Jenova, allowing the planet to escape the threat of that alien life-form.
But the consequence would be that Mr. Kain would become a very special kind of existence, something similar to the planet's will, or to the Whispers.
Mr. Kain would no longer be Mr. Kain. It would be as if he had lost all emotion and become something like—
What was it?
Right. Something like a program inside a computer.
That version of Mr. Kain could also be called a god-like existence. A god of fate. The absolute ruler of their world. And he would no longer be able to return to the Warhammer side. Would that not be very safe?
But if a person lost all emotion and became a program-like existence, then their identity as a human being would be gone. It would be no different from death.
Aerith did not want him to become that.
Even if doing so could bring safety to her world, it would mean killing Mr. Kain's humanity and eternally imprisoning his soul to serve this world.
He had already done more than enough by coming to help them. They already owed him so much. They could not be that shameless.
Mr. Kain surely did not want to become something like that either. But after that domain unfolded, it became difficult for him to pull back.
And the proof that he did not want to become that was the "world" Aerith could see right now.
This was proof of Mr. Kain's resistance.
She had to wake him up before the mist swallowed the city.
However, after calling out to him all along the way, he almost never noticed her. A few times, he seemed to sense something, but he immediately dismissed it as an auditory hallucination.
By the time night arrived, Aerith had grown anxious.
If he fell asleep again, things would become extremely bad.
Aerith desperately tried to create some movement to attract his attention and make him notice her.
When Mr. Kain was choosing which game to play, she succeeded in affecting him a little. She made him pick up the game called Final Fantasy VII.
Originally, Mr. Kain had been about to take another one. But under Aerith's desperate interference, his hand came into contact with Final Fantasy. To him, it looked as though he had chosen it himself.
Aerith also had a kind of intuition.
The more Mr. Kain came into contact with content related to her world, the easier it would be for him to discover her existence.
When she saw the plot depicting the destruction of Tifa's hometown, that was something that had truly happened to Tifa. Aerith could not help speaking out.
And when she did, she noticed Mr. Kain freeze slightly.
He had heard her again. It even seemed as though his gaze focused on her.
In that instant, Aerith felt as if she saw her own figure reflected in Mr. Kain's eyes, as though he had seen her.
A moment later, Mr. Kain returned to his computer desk and sat there, staring blankly at the document with fewer than two hundred words.
Aerith's intuition told her that she could not let Mr. Kain give up on continuing to write. As long as he kept writing, he would instead become easier to wake.
Because of that, Aerith called out for him to continue writing and not give up.
It seemed as though he heard her voice, but to Mr. Kain, it was still more like an auditory hallucination. He closed the document anyway, apparently preparing to go to sleep.
If he fell asleep, things would become troublesome.
Aerith desperately tried to stop him, but she could not touch Mr. Kain at all.
However, just as Mr. Kain stood up, she still managed to create a little movement. She affected the mouse, causing it to move and click open a folder—a folder labeled with her and Tifa's names.
After the folder opened, it revealed video content. The cursor then opened the first video, which seemed to be about her.
As the video began playing, Mr. Kain, who had been about to stand up, sat back down. He did not close it. Instead, he chose to watch.
So what was the "Aerith" inside going to do?
She saw "Aerith" open a gift box. Inside was a set of clothing called a Christmas outfit.
After picking it up and looking it over, she began changing clothes.
Eh? Eh? Eh—!
Was the changing scene going to be shown too?
Aerith's face turned red.
Although the "Aerith" inside could only be said to resemble her in outfit and styling, it was still extremely embarrassing.
Fortunately, the change seemed to fast-forward a little, or perhaps parts had been cut, so at most only the upper portion was clearly shown.
After changing, she was wearing the Christmas outfit. It was also extremely revealing. In any case, Aerith herself would be too embarrassed to go out dressed like that.
After changing, the other "herself" took a small box from the gift box and opened it. Inside were things Aerith did not understand.
One looked like a strangely shaped short rod. The other seemed to be a short whip made from a string of beads?
What was that for?
Hm?
Hm!!!
Waaah!!!
