She suddenly raised her left wrist, pointed at the mechanical watch he had given her, and said bluntly, "I know now that watches from this brand start at seven figures, at least. And the one you gave me seems to be a custom model. So what did you say before? That it only cost a hundred thousand or so?"
"Why are you so hung up on the price? Wasn't I just afraid you wouldn't accept it if you knew how much it cost?"
Shen Chen, unaware of her experience of living two lives, thought she had gone out of her way to look up the price. His expression was a bit helpless. "I was just thinking that you're about to start college, so it was time for you to have a decent watch."
When giving such an expensive gift, most people would be afraid the recipient *wouldn't* know its value. But here he was, painstakingly hiding it, terrified that Xu Su would refuse it if she knew the price.
He really just spent the money without looking for a single word of praise...
