Adrian Quincy nodded, but his face was devoid of any happiness.
Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Your expression makes it obvious you don't want me to be pregnant."
Adrian Quincy hummed in agreement, making no attempt to deny it.
Claire Sinclair sat up straight and mumbled under her breath, "If you dislike children so much, then I don't want one anymore."
The hurt in her voice was heartbreaking.
Adrian Quincy wrapped his arms around her from behind and said softly, "Claire, it's not that I dislike children. It's just that I love you more."
Claire Sinclair covered her ears, unwilling to listen.
She had been so looking forward to having a child, but his cold reaction crushed all her excitement.
Adrian Quincy pulled her hands away from her ears and added, "I'll be honest. If you were pregnant, I would feel a bit disappointed. That's all it is. It doesn't mean I don't want the child."
