「The next day.」
At eight in the morning, City E's annual Watermelon Festival was about to kick off at Watermelon Square. The square was already packed with thousands of spectators, some from out of town and some local.
When Claire Sinclair and Theo Rhodes arrived at the event, the head of the Watermelon Festival, Chase Wade, greeted them with a beaming smile, a group of staff members in tow.
"Reporter Sinclair, welcome! I'm Chase Wade, the organizer of this year's Watermelon Festival. Your presence truly honors our City E!"
Probably because they were wary of her status as Adrian Quincy's girlfriend, no one dared to shake her hand.
