Pep Girl said, "I'm an intern, Bonnie Yates. I'm nineteen, from the journalism department at the University of Aethelgard."
The cheerful boy said, "I'm an intern too. I just started last week. I graduated from Meridia University's communications program. My name is Theo Rhodes."
One was from Aridia's best university, and the other had graduated from Meridia's best university. It looked like they were both top students.
Claire Sinclair was eager to see what they could do. She said politely, "Hello. Were you hired by Teacher Hartwell?"
The two of them nodded in unison.
Claire Sinclair asked again, "And the people who used to sit at your desks?"
The two of them instinctively glanced at each other, as if the topic was difficult to broach. Finally, the young man spoke. "The president came for an inspection a few days ago. We don't know why, but he fired them."
