The car's engine died, and with it, the air conditioning. Overcome by the heat, Claire Sinclair and Theo Rhodes got out of the car. They preferred standing under the open sun to boiling alive inside.
Landon Winston tried restarting the car, but after several failed attempts, he had no choice but to get out and inspect it.
A few minutes later, Landon Winston walked up to Claire Sinclair. "Young Madam, the car's broken down. I don't have the tools to fix it. I'll call for someone to bring another car over right away."
Claire Sinclair nodded, her eyes scanning the surroundings before finally settling on the main gate of Xenogen Biopharmaceuticals. "The sun is brutal," she said casually. "Let's go over there and enjoy some AC."
Theo Rhodes said excitedly, "Let's hurry, Master! I'm about to melt out here."
Claire Sinclair started toward Xenogen Biopharmaceuticals, but she had barely taken a step when she heard several vicious barks.
