'Is this really love?'
Joan Shaw's lips curved into a slight smile. She rested her cheek in her hand and gazed out the window. As they passed a plaza, fireworks suddenly shot up into the sky.
BANG! BANG! With a few bursts, the entire sky blossomed with color.
She couldn't help but crane her neck to watch the receding fireworks. 'So beautiful.'
"You like them?" Miles Xavier glanced in the rearview mirror at the rockets soaring into the sky, bursting like flowers.
Joan Shaw immediately shook her head. "No, I don't."
Miles Xavier gave a cryptic smile. He knew she was just being stubborn.
He drove for what felt like a long time. By the time they returned to the castle, it was very late, and everything was silent.
Angela Shaw and her mother, who had already gone to bed, received a message from the butler that President Xavier had returned. They scrambled out of bed to greet him.
