The north wind tangled her hair and sent her nude-colored long dress fluttering.
Though she was shivering from the cold, her hand remained steady. She tugged at the necklace around her neck, but it wouldn't come off easily. Finally, she yanked off her ring instead. "How about this? It's worth 120 million. What do you think would happen if I threw it down?"
"You dare threaten me?" Miles Xavier's eyes were bloodshot with rage. 'How dare she fight with him over another man? And even threaten to throw away something he gave her?'
He immediately strode over and reached out to snatch it from her hand.
Joan Shaw jumped, thinking he was going to grab it for himself. To her surprise, after Miles Xavier snatched the ring, he hurled it out into the pitch-black night.
"You don't care about the things I give you? Then don't have them at all!"
Joan Shaw snapped out of it and leaned over the windowsill to look down, but the world below was a pitch-black void. She couldn't see a thing.
