He pressed his face against Yuri, nuzzling him. Yuri patted the back of his head. "What are you drawing, kiddo?"
"It's the morning glory wall at school. Nina, Melody, and I always go play there after class."
"You miss Nina and Melody?"
"Uh-huh. Daddy, when can I go back to school and play with them?"
"Soon," Yuri said soothingly, rubbing Gordon's cheek.
Gordon bobbed his head enthusiastically and turned back to his drawing board, completely absorbed in his art.
Ashley Bowen stood to the side without a word, her mind miles away from the father-son conversation.
'Right now, all I want to do is find Claire Sutton, grab her by the hair, and demand to know how she could possibly betray Adam! He's such a good person!'
"Yuri, I have to go out for something!"
"Where are you going?" Yuri caught her by the elbow from behind. She froze, remaining silent for a long moment.
"I'll go with you, wherever it is."
