Mae's nerves tightened. She quickly turned back to pull her. "My lady, why are you just standing here? Please, hurry and come with me to change your clothes."
Summer glared at the suddenly fawning Filipina maid, utterly baffled. 'What is this maid's game? Before, she was so nasty to me, speaking as if she wished I were dead. Why is she so respectful now? And she keeps calling me "my lady"?'
"Wait, I think I hear a child's voice. Do you know where he is?"
"After you've changed, I'll take you to see the little Prince," Mae said with an obsequious smile, giving her another tug, afraid that any delay might cause more trouble.
But unfortunately for Mae, the young maid who had gone looking for Summer returned just then. Her head was lowered, and she looked terrified, but a smile immediately broke out on her face when she saw Summer. "Third Imperial Concubine, you're here! His Majesty is looking for you."
