Before she even reached the room, she could smell the strong stench of alcohol.
Claire Sutton's brow furrowed. She quickened her pace and pushed open the ajar door. Sure enough, a man was slumped in the corner by the desk, despondently clutching a bottle and drowning his sorrows.
She strode forward and, before Adam Sinclair could react, snatched the bottle from his hand. "What good is it to drown your sorrows in alcohol all day?" she snapped. "Do you think this will make Ashley Bowen come back to you? Let me tell you something!"
She carelessly tossed the bottle aside. It rolled across the floor, sloshing what was left of its contents everywhere.
The smell of alcohol instantly filled the entire room.
Lost in his drunken haze, Adam Sinclair waved a hand to push Claire away.
"I'm not finished! I'm telling you, if you keep this up, Yuri Sinclair will take even more from you!" Claire grabbed Adam Sinclair's shoulders, her grip like a vice, and enunciated each word clearly.
