When Holly Winslow answered Mortimer Quincy's call, she let out a knowing "Hmph." She had guessed he would call, so she'd cleverly stayed on the first floor instead of going up.
She decided to tease him, panting dramatically into the phone. "What's up? I'm so tired... I just climbed four flights of stairs. I think I'm going to turn in early tonight."
There was a mirror near the entrance of the girls' dorm, and in it, Mortimer Quincy clearly saw a girl timidly peeking out from behind the door.
She seemed to be planning a surprise for him.
He raised an eyebrow and played along, turning his back to her. "Okay. Sleep well."
The next second, with a playful tap on his shoulder, Holly popped her head out from behind him. "Quincy the Puppy, your wifey is here!"
Mortimer couldn't help but chuckle at that. He took her hand, and they started walking toward the man-made lake.
