Gu Kai Zhi led Daya into his dorm room. He closed the door, set down her luggage, and immediately pulled her into a hug.
He buried his nose in the crook of her neck, taking a deep breath.
"Honey, I've missed you. I can't believe you're here."
Daya wrapped her arms around his waist. "We've only been apart for a few days."
"I don't want to be apart from you for a single day."
"I just submitted the housing application yesterday. I didn't expect you to arrive today. It'll probably take a while for the apartment to be approved, so you'll have to put up with staying in this small dorm with me."
Daya turned to look at the room's furnishings: a single bed, a washbasin tucked underneath it, a desk and chair set, and a cabinet.
The setup was simple but very clean. Seeing the quilt folded as neatly as a block of tofu made Daya smile.
