After watching Daya and the others walk off into the distance, Liu Jianwei slowly returned to the place he was staying.
An old, dilapidated factory housed many people like Liu Jianwei who had come from out of town. They were all in Beijing City to work, but since they couldn't afford to rent a proper place, they were forced to live crammed together here.
Someone saw Liu Jianwei come back empty-handed and asked in confusion, "Weren't you sent out to buy food? How come you're back with nothing?"
Only then did Liu Jianwei remember that he had gone out to buy something. But he had no appetite now, so he sat down next to the man.
"Guess who I just ran into outside?"
"Who?"
Liu Jianwei said smugly, "My niece. I've told you before, right? I have a niece in Beijing City. I just ran into her. She's really rich now."
The man clearly didn't believe him and thought Liu Jianwei was just bragging.
