Annabelle Linton called for Ashley Grant.
"Looking for me, sis?" Ashley Grant asked as she plopped down beside her. She grabbed an apple with one hand and started eating it, while flicking through channels with the remote in her other.
Annabelle Linton frowned and got straight to the point. "Ashley, what happened with Annabelle Ainsworth yesterday? Did you have something to do with it?"
Annabelle thought about it for a moment, and the whole story became clear. No wonder she'd heard Ashley's cheers last night as she was dozing off in the car.
She had thought it was a dream.
'No, that's not right,' she thought. 'Leona Grant must have had a hand in this too. Ashley couldn't have pulled it off on her own.'
"What are you talking about?"
Ashley froze for a second, took a bite of her apple, and then it clicked. She didn't bother hiding anything. "You mean her getting lost and hurt? Oh, it wasn't just 'related' to me. I'm the one who did it. What about it?"
