"Then wear them for me at home!"
He answered domineeringly, completely ignoring her protests as he pulled her into the car. His handsome face was clearly happy, but since he wasn't one to wear his emotions on his sleeve, an outsider might not have noticed his mood. But she was so close to him, and the joy in his eyes was unmistakable.
She, too, curled her lips into a gentle smile.
Now that they had their marriage certificate, he was in a good mood, and so was she. She just never expected his way of expressing joy would be so childish—a celebratory shopping spree.
She was the one driving. On the way to the mall, while waiting at a red light, she suddenly turned and whispered softly in his ear, "Julian Donovan, I love you!"
He clearly hadn't expected such a sudden, tender confession. He froze for a moment, then glared at her with mock seriousness. "Eyes on the road!"
