"Oh, so we have to attend the banquet?" She didn't like attending banquets. To her, they were a waste of time. She'd rather be lying in bed getting some proper rest. After what Leo had put her through that afternoon, her body was still aching. It was uncomfortable to walk, and her lower back hurt even when she stood still.
"Yes, we are."
"Can we not go? Can I go back and rest now?"
Leo Joyce raised an eyebrow and gave her a roguish smile. "What do you think?"
"Is it someone important? Why do I have to be there?"
Seeing the aggrieved and dissatisfied look on her face, Leo Joyce couldn't help but smile and tap her nose. "You're my woman. If you don't attend, who will?"
"But I'm really tired."
"Be good. Just put up with being tired for tonight. Starting tomorrow, you can sleep in as late as you want. And what's more, I can sleep in with you." As he said the last part, Leo Joyce leaned in and whispered deliberately into Tiana's ear.
