Silas Kent glanced at his watch and furrowed his brow. "I suppose so. Why do you ask all of a sudden?"
"It's nothing. I just saw a woman in the restroom."
Silas Kent poured a cup of hot tea and handed it to her, raising an eyebrow. "Did she scare you?"
"No."
From her expression, it was obvious that wasn't true. But Silas Kent didn't press the issue. Instead, he poured himself another cup of hot tea, a helpless smile playing on his lips as he said, "The old man has an illegitimate daughter. She loves to cause trouble. If you ran into her tonight, you're probably in for it."
"An illegitimate daughter?" This was probably the first time Mika Summers had heard Silas Kent mention his family—even if it was about an illegitimate daughter.
Silas Kent cleared his throat with feigned awkwardness. "Ahem, we're here to eat tonight, not to talk about other things. Let's just eat."
