The man was startled and spun around, glaring, ready to give Er Niu a piece of his mind. But when he turned, his face went pale with shock.
Er Niu, who had been right beside him, had vanished into thin air.
"What's going on?"
He hastily leaped into the air, riding his sword. Looking at his companions, he cried out, "Did any of you see that clearly?"
"See what?"
His companions asked in surprise.
"How did the driver disappear?"
The man demanded, not understanding why his companions were acting so nonchalant.
"What driver? It was an empty carriage. Boss, we were wondering why you were so fixated on it, if you'd found something."
Another man said with a laugh.
"Are you idiots, or am I? How does an empty carriage move on its own? Do you really think I've got nothing better to do?"
The man was furious, his face turning grim.
The men froze, finally realizing what was wrong. An empty carriage was strange enough, but their boss's reaction was even stranger.
