"Su Nuo…" The man's voice softened. "I'll give you the best of everything."
"I can earn it with my own two hands." Su Nuo looked down at her ten slender, jade-like fingers, then shook her head gently and looked up at him. "I don't want a marriage that's all style and no substance."
"I got carried away before. I even forgot that I'm only eighteen. I should be enjoying my youth."
"All style, no substance?"
"Yes. We got married in a rush. Our entire relationship is just held together by a couple of documents. No flowers, no wedding. This isn't what I want."
"You care about that stuff?" The man gazed at her intently, his thin lips slightly parted.
"Why wouldn't I? It's not like I'm the type who's looking for a platonic relationship. You think too highly of me."
The man was silent for a long time. Finally, he said, "I can give you all of that. But we're not getting a divorce."
"Why not?"
