"Su Nuo…" The man's voice softened. "I will give you the best of everything."
"I can earn it with my own two hands." Su Nuo looked down at her ten slender, jade-like fingers and shook her head gently. She looked up at him. "I don't want a flashy, empty marriage like this."
"I got carried away before. I even forgot that I'm only eighteen, an age when I should be enjoying my youth."
"Flashy and empty?"
"Yes. We got married in a rush, and our entire relationship is held together by two little booklets. No flowers, no wedding. This isn't what I want."
"You care about things like that?" The man stared at her intently, his thin lips slightly parted.
Su Nuo shrugged and smiled. "Why wouldn't I care? I'm not the type to pursue some platonic romance. You think too highly of me."
The man was silent for a long time. After a while, he finally said, "I can give you all of that. But we're not getting a divorce."
