"Let's go," she said faintly, instructing the Palace Attendants carrying the palanquin.
「In the Imperial Study Room.」
"...Your Majesty." Bai Zhi arrived, curtsied gracefully, and said with a light smile, "I missed Your Majesty so dearly today that I just had to come. Please don't be angry with me, Your Majesty."
The atmosphere in the Imperial Study Room was tense. Bai Zhi's arrival, however, seemed to diffuse some of the suffocating feeling.
The Emperor relaxed inwardly but put on a displeased expression. "What are you doing here?"
Bai Zhi placed the tonic soup she was holding on the imperial desk and said, "Your Majesty worked so hard last night. I was worried about your health, so I brought you some tonic soup."
The Emperor said, "You're very thoughtful," and then continued:
"You and the Second Prince met just yesterday. Why are you acting like complete strangers in my presence today?"
