Da Hu was long accustomed to Gu Jiaojiao's generosity. Whenever they went to play with Sweet Girl and Xiao Yang, they often got to eat candy she gave them, so it wasn't strange at all.
Following Gu Jiaojiao's instructions, Da Hu gave one piece to each child. The ones who received candy were thrilled. Some ate it on the spot, while others tucked it into their pockets, planning to go home and share with their younger siblings.
But every child who received a piece of candy grew to like Gu Jiaojiao.
After Da Hu finished handing out the candy, he announced with an air of importance, "All of you, make sure to help Gu Zhiqing out. This is her first time gathering pig feed, and she doesn't know anything."
All the children answered in unison.
Then, everyone scattered.
Off to the side, Gu Jiaojiao covered her face.
'So I'm being looked after by a bunch of kids now.'
