After all their years together, Winter Sullivan had come to rely on Julian Caldwell.
However, the recent string of events had brutally severed that dependence. She and Julian Caldwell were from two different worlds, after all. At her age, talk of love, or the lack of it, felt somewhat melodramatic. But she had always had her own bottom line.
Once that line was crossed, there was no room for negotiation.
This wasn't the past. She wasn't young anymore, no longer the kind of person who couldn't live without someone else.
She felt she'd learned this lesson a little late, but thankfully, it wasn't too late.
'I was such a fool,' she thought, 'to have only just now realized his true feelings.'
In her hospital room, Susan Caldwell heard the sound of Julian Caldwell and Winter Sullivan arguing. In truth, she was ecstatic. She couldn't wait for them to get a divorce!
