Vera Xavier immediately thought of something and curiously asked him, "You were sleeping at the time, and you weren't even next to me. How did you know he was about to reach out and touch me? And how were you so sure it was him?"
To Nathaniel Nathan, her questions sounded a bit foolish. What kind of person was he? He didn't need to see things like that; he could tell just by listening. Not to mention that weasel-faced man had been running his mouth so much. The target couldn't have been more obvious.
So, he said flatly, "Those are just basic skills."
Vera was speechless. 'Just what kind of insane missions does Nathaniel usually handle? What sort of high-level judgment and skills do they require?'
Nathaniel said slowly, "There are many criminals in this world, and it's not uncommon to find ones who are highly intelligent, skilled, and capable. If you want to win against them, you have to be even better. That's why some basic abilities have become second nature by now."
