Vera Xavier looked at the sachet, which was embroidered with a butterfly pattern, its stitches slightly crooked. She froze for a moment, then remembered something.
In her past life, before she returned to the Preston Family, someone in the next village got married and showed a movie outdoors. The two of them went to see it together. In the film, she saw the main actress carrying a beautiful butterfly-shaped sachet. She loved it and told Chloe she wanted one, too.
She had forgotten about it as soon as she said it, but Chloe had remembered.
Vera said nothing as she took the sachet. It wasn't sewn shut, nor did it have a zipper. Instead, it was fashioned from two pieces of fabric with an overlapping section about half a finger long. She opened it and found it filled with rose petals.
