When White Spirit saw her, she went wild with agitation. 'What took you so long? I was about to be tormented to death... SOB... SOB...'
Ye Qianning put a small hand to her lips and shushed her. 'Does this little thing want to attract everyone over here?'
White Spirit understood and stopped her flailing. She gripped the bars of the cage with her small paws, staring at her with a wronged expression, as if complaining that she was late.
"Isn't this your own fault for being too playful?" Ye Qianning chided.
But she could see the little creature was indeed quite haggard. Her once-white fur was now dull and lusterless, looking a bit dry. She also seemed to have lost some weight.
It looked like she had suffered a bit.
White Spirit clutched her paws aggrievedly. Already nursing a sense of grievance, she turned her back after being chided, refusing to look at her.
"Alright, come on out," Ye Qianning said, opening the cage.
