"No."
Zachary Redgrave didn't even look up. He didn't have to think about it; the reply was almost instantaneous.
Zoe Yates knew that would be the answer. 'I should have known. I never should have signed that stupid 24/7 on-call contract. I feel like I've been completely swindled.'
"Redgrave, have a heart. Just think of it as a good deed and approve my annual leave early. My parents are hounding me to come home. You know how it is when people get older—they just want their kids around for the holidays."
With a troubled look on her clean, delicate face, Zoe Yates pressed her palms together and looked at Zachary Redgrave.
Zachary Redgrave closed the script in his hands and slowly lifted his gaze. "You get paid a high salary every month. You can't just take the money and not do the work, can you? Besides, if you go home now, who's going to cook for me?"
'Scrooge. Total cheapskate.'
