Zelda Miller smiled good-naturedly. "Of course."
Zachary Redgrave nodded with an air of great importance. "Alright then. Grandma, if you'd excuse us for a moment. We need to talk privately."
"You child. What could you possibly have to say that you can't say in front of this old woman?"
Mrs. Redgrave was mainly afraid that his mouth had no filter, and that he'd spout some nonsense and scare the girl away.
Zachary gave a roguish lift of his eyebrow. "Don't worry, Grandma. I know how to be tactful."
"Grandma, why don't Zachary and I go upstairs to talk? Just remember to call us when it's time for dinner."
As it happened, Zelda Miller also had a few things she wanted to discuss with Zachary Redgrave alone.
"Yes, yes, good. You two go talk in the bedroom. Grandma will come get you when dinner is ready."
"Thank you, Grandma."
Zelda Miller said sweetly, then shot Zachary Redgrave a subtle glance from the corner of her eye before heading upstairs.
