Laura Lowell partially covered her face with her hand, not wanting him to see her like this at all.
At first, Laura Lowell had absolutely refused to take off her mask. But Dr. Miller had just told her that wearing it constantly would hinder her recovery.
She'd had no choice but to remove it.
Aiden Shaw leaned down and sat on the edge of her hospital bed. With his slender, well-defined fingers, he gently pulled her hand away from her face. "I don't mind, silly."
"How on earth did this happen to you?"
Laura Lowell gave a weak, crooked smile. "Someone must have put something in my makeup. After I finished putting it on this morning, my face just… became like this."
"Yvonne Sloan?"
Yvonne Sloan was Laura Lowell's personal makeup artist. She was the most likely person and had the most opportunity to do something like this.
