His gaze swept over the prisoners slumped on the ground, their faces ashen.
In the face of absolute power, their faith and fanaticism had become a joke.
Now, their faces held only the dazed look of survivors and a bone-deep terror.
God had not saved them.
Instead, the Lord they saw as a Demon and his Giant Dragon had destroyed the Angel who came to "save" them.
The shock was immense, even shattering the faith of some.
Raylo paused, his voice growing colder.
"Tell them their god has abandoned them."
"If they want to live, they will go to the Black Stone Mountain Range and obediently become miners."
"This is their only chance to atone."
A chill went down Ed's spine, and he nodded gravely.
"Yes, Lord!"
'The best place for these prisoners of war was in the sunless mines, where every last bit of their value could be wrung from them.'
