The company continued south.
The twin suns slowly sank toward the horizon, setting the clouds ablaze in a magnificent wash of orange-red.
A vast river, so wide its other bank was out of sight, lay before them. The current was swift, and in the lingering light of sunset, the ceaselessly churning water shimmered with a golden glint, like a flowing river of gold.
The air was thick with damp mist, mingled with the fresh scent of earth and vegetation.
"This is the Canglan River."
Raylo reined in Baofeng, feeling the river wind on his face. It carried the unique, wild spirit of this world.
"Make camp on the high ground ahead!"
Ed's resonant command echoed through the company.
The well-trained Knights sprang into action. The Pegasus Knights and Griffin Knights landed on a gentle rise overlooking the river. They skillfully unloaded supplies, pitched tents, and set up a perimeter watch.
