The young officer agreed and walked out.
Meanwhile, Hector Vaughn's parents ignored his wish to keep things from escalating. They insisted on pressing charges, convinced their son had been framed.
As they were arguing, the young officer who had just left ran back in. "It's a couple," he reported. "They say their daughter committed suicide."
"Suicide?" the tall officer wondered aloud. "Why come to the station for that?"
The words had barely left his mouth when the grief-stricken couple walked in, followed by several other people. They were well-dressed, and it was clear they came from a respectable family.
The parents of the deceased girl entered, and upon spotting an officer by the door, they rushed to him, crying out, "Officer, I want to file a report! My daughter committed suicide half a month ago! Her death was an injustice!"
"If she committed suicide half a month ago, why are you coming to the police station now?" the officer asked, confused.
