First Grand-uncle never took part in the squabbles between Third Grand-uncle and Mrs. Sterling, merely observing with cold detachment. But Mrs. Sterling knew that, in truth, it was First Grand-uncle's family who looked down on her side of the family the most.
Bernard Sterling looked at Aurora Sterling and got straight to the point, asking, "Aurora, what are your plans for the future?"
From the way Bernard Sterling phrased his question, it was clear he couldn't care less about Aurora's scores. He didn't bother asking about them, jumping straight to her plans for the future instead.
Only children with poor grades were ever asked about their future plans.
"What other plans could she have? Get married, of course," Third Grand-uncle interjected before Aurora could answer. His voice wasn't loud, but it was just loud enough for everyone at the main table and the two adjacent tables to hear.
