In Chase Childs's car, Holly Summers watched him drive, completely focused and not saying a word. She hesitated for a moment before searching for a topic of conversation, trying to break the slightly awkward silence.
"President Jennings is going to be a dad. He seems so happy, heh..." She forced a laugh, immediately feeling foolish. 'Who wouldn't be happy about becoming a father? Was that something I really needed to point out?'
In response, Chase Childs simply turned his head, gave her a blank look, and then refocused his attention on the road ahead.
Holly Summers pouted to herself. On the way to The Tuberose, he hadn't been very talkative, but he wasn't as silent as he was now.
'Is he… upset after seeing how lovey-dovey President Quinn and Clara are?'
'But that couldn't be right. As President Quinn's assistant, he's with him all the time. If seeing them together was going to upset him, he'd be upset every day. There's no reason for him to be suffering over it now, right?'
