When Clara Grant returned to Stellan Bay, she saw that although her mother, Skylar Hayes, was in low spirits, she was otherwise fine. Upon seeing Clara return, Skylar even busied herself with making a few of her favorite dishes, which finally put Clara's mind at ease.
That night, the mother and daughter squeezed onto one bed and talked for a long time. Clara had actually wanted to persuade her mother not to get hung up on the fact that Marcus Jarvis was Jean Jarvis's cousin. But when she saw that her mother refused to even mention Marcus Jarvis, she didn't press the issue.
'Since Mom still can't quite get over it, it's best to let things cool down. It would be pointless to say any more right now.'
The next day, Clara had no classes in the morning, so she'd originally planned to take Skylar Hayes out to browse the shops and unwind.
