Clara recounted what Sandra had said to him, and then voiced the doubts on her mind.
"You suspect that incident is related to Faye Jennings?" Seth Quinn asked after a moment of thought.
"I can't say for sure if she was involved, but her actions are definitely suspicious.
"She reported Sandra to us, and both we and the police guaranteed we would never reveal that she was the one who betrayed Sandra. So why would she secretly give Sandra that advice?
"If she were afraid that Sandra might find out one day and hold a grudge, then it would make even less sense for her to do this. She should have persuaded Sandra to confess quickly and get sentenced. The heavier the sentence, the better—ideally, life in prison so she could never get out.
"That way, even if Sandra resented her, she wouldn't be able to do anything about it if she couldn't get out of prison.
