After leaving Aegis, Clara Grant went straight back to Stellan Bay. She hadn't been back in days, not since she'd moved in with the Quinn family.
What happened with Faye Jennings was still weighing on her. Lost in her thoughts, she made her way home, let herself in with her key, and shut the door behind her. As she changed her shoes in the entryway, she called out listlessly, "Mom, I'm back."
But a man's voice answered, "Clara, you're back?"
Clara Grant looked up to see Marcus Jarvis standing by the living room sofa. She froze for a second, then a smile spread across her face. After slipping on her house shoes, she walked over and said, "Uncle Jarvis? What are you doing here?"
Marcus Jarvis smiled back. "I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd stop by and see your mother."
"Oh, really?" Clara laughed lightly, looking around. She didn't see her mother anywhere. "Where is my mom?"
"Oh, she went to her room to change. I was just about to take her out for dinner."
