After a moment's thought, she answered, but before she could speak, a rather arrogant voice came from the other end. "Hello, Miss Jennings."
Faye Jennings composed herself and raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on her lips. "Miss Shelby, hello. To what do I owe the pleasure? Is there something important?"
Autumn Shelby's laughter came from the other end. "I'm surprised. After a whole year, Miss Jennings still has my old number."
Faye Jennings lowered her gaze and kicked a small stone away. Her voice was deceptively gentle. "Of course. After all, it was you, Miss Shelby, who required all Aegis employees to save your number. We had to answer the very moment you called, or we'd be punished. So, how could I possibly dare to delete it?"
As Faye Jennings spoke, she scoffed internally. Back then, even though Seth Quinn was cold toward Autumn Shelby, he indulged her in so many ways. That was why Faye had always believed Autumn was the one he loved most.
