The watch, which Clara Grant had thought was just an ordinary timepiece, actually started playing a recording:
"...Uncle, do you like her or not? I'm telling you, a lot of guys like her. Just now, another man even brought her home. It's so late. A man who brings a girl home this late definitely has designs on her. If you don't hurry up and..."
The voice was clearly Cherie's. He sounded anxious, probably because he was afraid another man would "snatch her away."
"The man who brought her home was me."
That was Seth Quinn's voice, cool and indifferent.
Seth Quinn hadn't brought her home many times, so with a moment of reflection, Clara Grant remembered. It was the time Sarah had dragged her to The Elysian Restaurant to try for a role in *A Lifetime of Splendor*. Seth had said something to Sarah, and Sarah had actually abandoned her and taken off. In the end, Seth had forcibly taken her home.
'But when did Cherie call Seth Quinn? How did I not know anything about this?'
