Seth Quinn glanced at her. 'This woman is so naive,' he thought. 'She can't even tell if she's slept with a man or not.'
'Women as naive as her are rare these days. Haven't I hit the jackpot?'
Seth Quinn's lips parted. He wanted to tell her it was all a misunderstanding—that he hadn't done anything to her that night either.
But when he spoke, a different question came out. "If I hadn't touched you that day, would you still have agreed to marry me?"
"No!" Clara Grant answered readily, without the slightest hesitation.
'Of course she wouldn't have agreed so easily if he hadn't touched her.' While needing money was a factor in her agreeing to marry him, the primary reason was that she thought they had slept together, which made anything between her and Miles Quinn impossible.
"What if I told you now that I was lying? That I didn't touch you at all back then. What would you do?"
"That would be great. I'd divorce you," Clara Grant said nonchalantly, sipping her porridge.
