After hanging up, Clara Grant felt a heavy tightness in her chest. She just didn't want to answer his calls. She didn't care if he got angry, and she didn't even care about his threats.
'If he wants to announce our marriage, then let him! I just want to be selfish for once, consequences be damned!'
Clara Grant suddenly wondered, 'My request back then not to make our marriage public—hadn't that been exactly what he wanted?'
'After all, he still had his ex-fiancée on his mind. Maybe he was hoping to get back together with her someday, so he probably never intended to announce the marriage in the first place.'
'I just happened to bring it up first, saving him the trouble.'
'Hmph.' Clara Grant scoffed inwardly. 'And to think, when I first proposed the idea, he acted so reluctant.'
'He got exactly what he wanted and still played the victim!'
