Chloe Grant stopped crying and whined at Cedric Grant, "Dad, you actually hit me today over Clara, and you hit so hard. Not only that, you kept taking her side and blaming me. Don't you love me anymore?"
As she spoke, she put on a pitiful, wronged expression.
She knew her father always fell for this act. After she finished speaking, she saw his expression soften and knew her trick had worked again.
Cedric Grant looked at her and sighed. She was, after all, his own daughter, whom he had spoiled for so many years. Seeing that half of her face was still red and swollen, how could he not feel a pang of pity?
He reached out and gently touched his daughter's face, asking with concern, "Does it still hurt?"
Chloe Grant's eyes immediately welled up with tears again. "It hurts."
"Put an ice pack on it when we get home. It'll feel better."
"Mm-hmm."
