"What if you see a girl prettier than Dorothy when you grow up?"
Dylan Grant replied earnestly, word for word, "In my eyes, Dorothy is the prettiest. I'm going to marry her when I grow up."
Hearing this, Nora Ainsworth and Quentin Grant were of two minds. Part of them found it precious, while the other part knew you couldn't take a child's words seriously.
"Alright, it's getting late. Everyone, let's get some rest. Tomorrow is a brand new day. Those who have school will go to school, those who have work will go to work, and everyone will do what they need to do."
The two children went upstairs, and Quentin Grant led Nora Ainsworth upstairs as well.
They stood at the bedroom door.
Just as Nora was about to enter, Quentin suddenly grabbed her hand.
"Quentin, what is it?"
He turned to the side, hugged her, and whispered softly in her ear, "Nora, close your eyes."
Nora Ainsworth closed her eyes with a smile.
Quentin Grant held her hand tightly and pushed the door open.
