"It's exactly eight. Right on time. You must have come early. What brings you here?"
Jean Grant said sheepishly, "I just haven't seen you in a few days, so I missed you. What else could it be?"
He turned his head to the side. "You missed me?"
"Of course! Oh, fine, you saw right through me. I was dropping Nicholas off at work this morning and was passing by, so I thought I'd come up and see you."
Quentin Grant smiled. "That's more like it."
"Alright then, Brother. You get back to work. I'm heading out."
"Mm, drive safe."
Jean Grant nodded and hurriedly left Quentin Grant's office.
'God knows how nervous I was just now.'
'Thankfully, I saw it.'
She had come yesterday, but Quentin Grant wasn't there all day, and no one was allowed in the office.
This morning, Secretary Lynch hadn't wanted to let her in either, but she had wheedled and pestered her way inside.
