After a short nap, Nora Ainsworth found herself with nothing to do in the afternoon, so she sat in a swing chair and read a romance novel. She cleaned every morning, which meant her afternoons were mostly for rest. There was hardly any work to do, so it was far from tiring.
The housekeeper walked over with a pleasant smile. "Just a heads-up, the Young Master is requesting that you get a physical in twenty days. He wants to ensure all the staff are healthy."
Nora smiled and nodded. "Okay."
The housekeeper sat down beside her. "Amy, have you been feeling unwell lately?"
"No," she said, shaking her head. "Just some aches and pains."
"Our Young Master is very concerned about the staff's health. You might be overworked. You can take the next couple of days off to rest."
Nora waved it off. "No, that's alright. I'm not tired. My days are already easy, I barely do any work. If I take time off on top of that, I wouldn't feel right accepting my wages."
"Very well."
