Mrs. Grant waved her hand. "Go on, now."
Jean Grant skipped out of the Grant Residence, her steps light and cheerful. She had felt happy these past few months with Nicholas Ainsworth.
The only stumbling block was the child in her belly.
The reason she had just warned Catherine Callahan was simply because she, too, was now a pregnant woman.
Something she had only just found out.
She had decided to go to the hospital and get rid of the child after dinner tonight.
Because she wasn't sure if the baby belonged to Nicholas Ainsworth or Marlon Marshall. In a situation like this, she'd rather destroy it needlessly than take the risk.
She would rather get rid of it than bear that risk.
As for Marlon Marshall, she felt he was ancient history.
She didn't want to bring him up again. Whether he was dead or alive had nothing to do with her.
The past two or three months had been remarkably peaceful. It would have been even better without this baby in her belly, whose father was a mystery.
