"A burglar?" Mrs. Quincy's heart skipped a beat. "We've lived in this area for decades. I've never heard of anyone having things stolen, not even during the New Year."
The housekeeper chimed in, "Are you two missing anything?"
"We came to ask you as soon as we suspected something. We haven't had a chance to check carefully yet."
Ian Quincy appeared just then. His gaze shifted between Mrs. Quincy and the housekeeper. 'If they were also robbed, it's impossible they wouldn't have noticed anything.' He stated gravely, "We found the burnt remains of a drugged incense stick in our room. We were out for more than ten hours."
Perhaps because their last departure had been so painful, they were utterly exhausted upon their return.
They had gone to bed early.
Mrs. Quincy's face paled in shock. "Drugged incense? Where is it?"
"I've already collected it. I'm taking it to Dad now." Ian Quincy said as he walked straight toward the main house.
