May Sutton chided, "Look at you, girl. Your mouth is a firecracker. Can't you be a little more polite to me?"
Cecilia Adler replied, "How would you like me to be polite? Should I get on my knees to talk to you?"
May Sutton choked. "...Who asked you to do that?"
Cecilia Adler rolled her eyes.
Lucas Lee once again tried to play the peacemaker. "Cecilia, your mother didn't mean it like that. Vivian has been talking about you for the past two days. Why don't you go inside and chat with her?"
Vivian Lee had been itching to jump into the conversation ever since Cecilia Adler walked in, and now she finally had her chance. "Sis, I actually have something to ask you."
"If you have something to ask, then ask."
"It's a private matter, between us girls," Vivian Lee said.
Cecilia Adler gave a derisive smile. 'What secrets could we possibly share?' She walked into the room and said slowly, "Fine. Let's hear it."
